Dan was born and raised in Philadelphia and attended La
Salle College High School. Dan Graduated from Arizona State University and subsequently stayed and worked in Scottsdale AZ. Dan joined the Army after the death of his friend, Pat Tillman, who was an US Army Ranger. Dan attended Basic Training and Airborne at Ft. Benning, GA. Immediately following graduation from Airborne School, Dan was then stationed at Ft. Bragg, where he attended Special Forces Assessment and Selection and was chosen to become a Green Beret. After completing the Q-course, Dan was assigned to 3rd Special Forces Group and eventually was selected to the Army’s Special Mission Unit. Dan has five deployments, and his awards and decorations include a Sapper Tab, Ranger Tab, Jumpmaster Badge, Military Freefall Jumpmaster, Combat Dive Supervisor, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, 4 Army Accommodation Medals, 2 Bronze Stars, ARCOM with (V) for valor, and a Purple Heart. Dan finished his active-duty time on assignment orders to The University of South Carolina ROTC as a professor of Military Science while completing his Masters in Higher Education from the University of Louisville. Dan is a graduate of International MBA at The University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business.
